There are seasons when God makes the path clear, and then there are seasons when we have to walk by faith.

We pray for direction. We ask God for answers. We look for signs that we’re moving in the right direction. Yet sometimes, instead of receiving immediate clarity, we are simply asked to trust Him.

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

Trusting God is easy when everything makes sense. The real test comes when the door hasn’t opened, the prayer hasn’t been answered, the situation hasn’t changed, and we still choose to believe that God is working.

When God’s Plan Looks Different From Yours

Most of us have plans for our lives. We imagine how things should happen, when they should happen, and what the outcome should look like.

But Scripture reminds us:

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” — Proverbs 16:9

Sometimes God’s direction comes through an open door. Other times, it comes through a closed one.

That disappointment may be redirection.

That delay may be preparation.

That unexpected change may be God moving you toward something you could not yet see.

We don’t always understand His methods, but we can trust His character.

You Don’t Have to Have Everything Figured Out

One of the greatest pressures we place on ourselves is believing we must know exactly what comes next.

You don’t.

Faith allows us to say, “God, I don’t understand this, but I trust You.”

You may not know how the situation will work out.

You may not know when the answer will come.

You may not know what the next six months will look like.

But you can know that God is already there.

Isaiah 46:4 gives us a beautiful reminder of God’s faithfulness: He will sustain us, carry us, and rescue us.

The God who carried you through yesterday is still God today.

Keep Moving Forward

Trusting God doesn’t mean doing nothing. It means continuing to walk faithfully while allowing Him to direct your steps.

Keep praying.

Keep serving.

Keep growing.

Keep believing.

Keep showing up.

And when God changes the direction, be willing to follow.

Sometimes we become so focused on the destination that we miss what God is developing within us during the journey.

He may be strengthening your patience.

He may be deepening your prayer life.

He may be teaching you discernment.

He may be removing distractions.

He may simply be drawing you closer to Him.

A Word for August

As we move through this month, release the pressure to have everything figured out.

Place your plans before God and allow Him to order your steps.

If a door closes, trust Him.

If you have to wait, trust Him.

If the direction changes, trust Him.

And when you cannot see what He’s doing, trust Him anyway.

God sees what you cannot see. He knows what you do not know. And He is already present in the places you haven’t reached yet.

Walk by faith. Follow His direction. And trust God with what comes next.

Prayer

Father, help me to trust You even when I cannot see the way ahead. Give me peace when I don’t understand, patience while I wait, and courage to follow wherever You lead. Order my steps and help me recognize Your hand in every season of my life. I surrender my plans, my worries, and my future to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
